  • Struggling to find profitable keywords?

    Published May 2nd, 2007

I wrote the other day about my SEO attempts, and some of the tools I’ve been using. One of the key things that I have struggled with in the past is identifying profitable keywords, whether for optimising my webpages or to use in PPC campaigns. I’ve tried various tools to help and have narrowed them down to a couple that do virtually everything I need.

The first is Wordtracker, which is an excellent tool for researching keywords and brainstorming ideas. It is a paid service, but you can do a limited trial to test it out. There’s plenty of support and an excellent tour which you can check out before buying. If you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend you try out the free trial.

The second tool I recommend is Keyword Elite, from the same stable as SEO Elite, which I mentioned the other day. This is an exceptional piece of programming and has the potential to save hours in research, page building, etc. The applications of this software are numerous. If you want to manipulate keywords, analyse PPC campaigns, create PPC campaigns, build Adsense websites or monitor your competition, there is something in the package for you. Rather than try to describe exactly what is available, I recommend checking out the 5 free videos available on the site - they give an excellent overview of the functionality of Keyword Elite.

I’d also like to give an honourable mention to Keywords Analyzer which offers some similar functionality to Keyword Elite at a lower price. If you are on a tight budget, it’s a good second choice.
